Student Showcase

Student Life at P.S. 83

At P.S. 83, students are at the heart of everything we do. Our school is a place where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn each day. From leadership opportunities to school-wide celebrations, students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Student Voice & Leadership

Students at P.S. 83 have opportunities to lead and share their voices.

Through our morning show, students:

  • Share announcements and school news

  • Build confidence and public speaking skills

  • Take pride in their school community

School Events & Celebrations

We celebrate our diverse community through exciting events throughout the year, including:

  • Kindness Week

  • Cultural celebrations

  • Spirit days

These events help students build strong relationships and a sense of belonging.

Kindness Week

Public School 83, in alignment with the NYC Department of Education, is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. We strive to ensure all students are free from harassment, intimidation, bullying, and discrimination based on actual or perceived race, color, citizenship or immigration status, religion, creed, national origin, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or weight.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Public School 83 proudly reflects a rich diversity of cultures. Located in the heart of Spanish Harlem—also known as “El Barrio”—our school community celebrates this vibrant heritage every day.

School-Wide AttenDANCE!

Each month, classes with strong attendance will earn a balloon. If we reach 115 balloons, we’ll celebrate with a school-wide AttenDANCE!
